Solid wood furniture for the living room

furniture for your living-room: what do we propose ?

Maison GONTIER has been producing its own solid wood living room furniture since 1920. You'll find classic furniture inspired by Louis Philippe or Louis XVI Directoire, as well as contemporary designer furniture. Choose from our coffee tables, tv stands, consoles, display cabinets, sofa ends and backs, armoires, bookcases, cabinets and small sideboards.

Our furniture is always handcrafted, in France, to order or in small production runs of up to 5 pieces.

Finishing is done to order, and you can choose your own shades and colors from our color chart. You can also contact us to define a customized piece of furniture by modifying the dimensions or choosing a special finish different from our standards.

Each piece of furniture comes with a 5-year guarantee and is delivered to the room, with 2 delivery drivers if necessary, in mainland France.

We don't use cardboard boxes or staples, but reusable blankets that are less likely to scratch the furniture.

Living-room funriture in oak, cherry or walnut : how to choose ?

The wood species we use for our furniture come from French sustainably managed forests. Cherry has traditionally been used for antique, classic, rustic or charm furniture. Its usual finish, which has been recurring since the 18th century, is the brown wood stain for which it is renowned. This brown finish can be seen in the FLAUBERT, DIRECTOIRE and MELANIE collections. Cherry in its natural state is a light wood with shades of gray and pale pink that also lends itself well to contemporary finishes and furniture, as in the STELLA collection.

Oak is the quintessential French wood species and can be found in both stylish furniture and charming collections such as RIVE GAUCHE. It also features prominently in contemporary collections such as STELLA and SIENNA.

Finally, walnut, naturally dark brown, symbolizes French chic and is used for top-of-the-range living-room furniture. The latest CANNES models are a fine illustration of this.
