Why choose a solid wood bed instead of a metal or laminated one?
A solid wood bed is stronger, more durable, and healthier than a bed made of metal or laminated panels. Solid wood does not warp over time and keeps its natural elegance. It is also an ecological choice, as it comes from sustainably managed forests and contains no harmful industrial glues with formaldehyde.
Do GONTIER solid wood beds include a headboard?
Yes. All our beds naturally come with an integrated headboard. If you already own a base, you can also purchase a solid wood headboard separately.
Are delivery and assembly included?
Delivery is free in mainland France (excluding Corsica, islands, and difficult access areas). Two delivery professionals will place your bed in the room of your choice. Beds are delivered in several parts to make handling easier. The heaviest part is the headboard, which weighs between 30 and 50 kg depending on the size, wood, and model.
For international orders, transport costs are automatically calculated in the shopping cart and are always included in the final price to pay. Depending on the country, delivery may be carried out by two professionals directly to the room of your choice, or in a wooden crate delivered to the doorstep or building entrance. Please note that additional charges may apply for difficult access.
Since each bed is made to order in France, production requires on average 5 weeks. This artisanal process ensures that every GONTIER bed is crafted with the greatest care and according to your chosen options.
For deliveries within France and the European Union, VAT and taxes are always included in the final price. For deliveries outside the European Union, local customs duties and import taxes may apply depending on the legislation of the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the customer.

Can I order a solid wood bed with base and mattress included?
Yes. Our beds can be ordered on their own, with a base, with both base and mattress, or with mattress only. We work with a French manufacturer of high-end bedding to ensure both comfort and quality.
How do I care for a solid wood bed on a daily basis?
A soft, slightly damp cloth is all you need to dust the wood. Avoid abrasive products and aggressive industrial cleaners that could damage the surface. For small scratches, use a special furniture touch-up pen adapted to the wood species of your bed.
There is no need to apply waxes or oils: thanks to the quality of GONTIER finishes, the wood is already protected. If you do choose to use additional care products, we recommend selecting the most natural waxes or oils possible, in order to avoid any damage from harsh chemical agents. Maintenance remains simple and allows the bed to keep its natural beauty intact over time.
What bed sizes do you offer?
We manufacture our beds in standard French dimensions (140×190, 140×200, 160×200, 180×200 cm), as well as in Anglo-Saxon formats Queen and King size. Bespoke projects are also welcome and can be studied on request.
Please note that the dimensions indicated (e.g. 140×190, 160×200) refer to the mattress size to be placed on the frame, not to the external size of the bed itself.
GONTIER beds are fully compatible with international mattresses: as long as you order the right format (EU, UK, or US size), your mattress will fit perfectly.
What warranty covers GONTIER beds?
All our solid wood beds come with a 5-year warranty, covering the strength and quality of the construction (wood joinery). Bases and mattresses are covered by a 2-year warranty.
