bedsides in solid wood
Bedside tables: a choice of elegance or practicality?
Indispensable next to the bed, the bedside table is always present in a bedroom, but its usefulness varies greatly from one home to another. Is it simply useful for placing a reading lamp on top, or should it also be able to hold books, bottles, pills or other night-time items?
Depending on the answer, the choice of a closed bedside cabinet with a door or simply with a drawer will be different. For bottles or stacks of books, a shelf between the legs will be welcome. It won't be essential if, for example, screens are preferred to books and bottles aren't necessary.
What style for your bedside tables: curved or straight?
Maison GONTIER offers Louis Philippe-style bedside tables with distinctive curved elements such as sabots, doucine moldings, column feet and door plates. You'll also find straighter Directoire-style bedside cabinets with Louis XVI fluting or rings.
For these 2 styles, you can order your furniture in solid oak or cherry. Solid wood comes from sustainably-managed French forests.
Customize your bedside table
So that your bedside table fits in perfectly with your bedroom, you can choose the wood shade and colors that best match your style and interior decor. You can view our standard color charts on the "Customized finishes" page and imagine the combinations you'd like. We'll create them for you. If your preferred colors are not on the standard color charts, send us a reference on lacquer so that we can create a countertype. We'll send it to you for validation before finishing your bedside cabinet.
