Contemporary furniture in ash wood

Furniture in solid French ash

Ash is harvested mainly in the Massif Central and western France. It is cut into trogans or pollards. Its hardness and resilience make it an excellent choice for furniture.

Even harder than oak, it is highly resistant to impact. It is also used to make field hockey sticks, shovel handles and axes. It was even used in car bodies as late as the 1950s.

For furniture, its very light, natural state is much appreciated, as the application of a white stain gives a very designer look to a piece of furniture in bleached ash, while darker stains give it a more solemn, statutory appearance, like the desks in our TRAPEZ collection.

Maison GONTIER manufactures its solid ash furniture exclusively with wood from sustainably managed French forests via PEFC-certified sawmills.

You can customize the finish of our ash furniture by choosing a light shade, as shown on the TRAPEZ small desk, or a very dark shade that comes close to walnut, as on the TRAPEZ executive desk.

Desks available in solid French ash but also TV stands, tables and sideboards.

While the TRAPEZ collection featured on our site mainly consists of desks and bookcases, you can find other French-made solid ash furniture on the site of our sister brand Mon Petit Meuble Français: TV stands, tables, sideboards, consoles... you'll find all these pieces in a sleek Scandinavian design in chic bleached ash wood.

You can also opt for made-to-measure GONTIER furniture by transforming an existing oak or cherry piece of furniture into ash for a very contemporary bleached finish. Don't hesitate to contact us for an ash furniture quote!

Each piece of furniture comes with a 5-year warranty and is delivered to the room in metropolitan France, with 2 delivery drivers if required. So you can be sure you're getting top-of-the-range, durable ash furniture that's 100% French.
